What does this picture mean to you?
When I began to grow Sunflowers twenty years ago it was for the sheer joy of their strength and color! Now, it’s for the bees. I worry about this fragile species tragically being poisoned by insecticides. Bees are an integral part of our food chain. We need them more than anything else I can think of. I plant flowers that they love and hope and pray they will continue to visit. When I look at this picture, it tells me that nature is still working its magic but in a diminished capacity. I saw less of them this year than ever before. I have shunned all pesticides, and use only natural-based cleaning products in my house. Our planet faces so many challenges and needs all the help we can give it. Curls Go Round the World asks you to kindly plant some flowers this Spring for our little striped friends, and watch your garden come to life with sustainable activity!
